Register
Register with a few photos that give people a sense of you and your place. Can be nondescript - a corner nook you like to read in, your cat by a window. You decide what you share. The clearer picture you paint the more matches you'll make. Other registered swoppers see the photos, the public internet never does. Your name and address are never shown to anyone.
Browse
Browse houses in the pool. See somewhere you like and shortlist them. They only find out if they pick you too.
The match
Now you're mutuals, arrange a video call from your match page, no numbers swapped. See the place on the call, feel it out. If you don't click, no fee, no hard feelings, no swop.
The swop
Both sides confirm, $100 each, you're introduced. You're in their place while they're in yours. We'll send you a swop agreement to chat through together. From here we leave the swop to you to manage. You've got enough lords in your life, so we're staying right out of it.
Err, my stuff
The trust mechanism is the swop itself. You've both got skin in the game. You're in their home while they're in yours. Neither of you is going anywhere near a bad decision.
What it costs
No money changes hands between swoppers. Swops charges each side a $100 matching fee when a swop confirms, and that covers you for a full year of swops. Stay three nights and that's $33 a night. Swop three weekends a year and you're looking at $33 a weekend.
More on pricingYour lease
A swop is a reciprocal guest stay. Swopmates never pay each other and they stay as houseguests, in the same way a house-sitter might. Leases vary, so check yours if you want to be sure. Your place, your call.
